"Arendelle in Winter" shows a fjord locked in the grip of eternal ice. This image, by Production Designer David Womersley, was the first of two conceptual pieces depicting the fabled realm of Arendelle- a mythical Nordic Kingdom and the setting of the Disney animated feature, “Frozen". The intention of this design was to show the castle home of the Princesses Elsa and Anna, set against, and dwarfed by, the sheer scale and splendor of a Norwegian landscape. This image was an early, and important step in the development of the story and the world of “Frozen”.
This fine art limited edition is created from the first and only hand-painted original of Womersley’s imaginative scenic design for the film. Originally created as a digital painting to aid in the pre-visualization of “Frozen”, he has reimagined and meticulously hand painted his own design for this stunning new limited edition art release.
